Subsystem startup
The CLIP subsystem is manually initiated by issuing the command:
/START-SUBSYSTEM CLIP
The subsystem then initializes a TU batch job and configures itself according to the settings in SYSDAT.CLIP.<ver>.
If all of these operations are successful, CLIP will be prepared for use. From this point forward, every SATLOG record from SATCP will be sent to CLIP.
The operator console will display a typical message flow during startup:
%HT24-000.223015 % JMS0066 JOB 'CLIP' ACCEPTED ON 23-09-21 AT 22:30, TSN = 4WK9

Subsystem startup procedure after version change:
This procedure is necessary after installing a new version of CLIP (21.0B01 and subsequent versions) when a previous version (21.0B) was already installed and operational. To ensure a successful startup of the subsystem, you must either restart the BS2000 operating system or temporarily disable SATCP logging.
Steps:
Execute the HOLD-SAT-LOGGING command: This command temporarily disables SATCP logging.
Execute the START-SUBSYSTEM CLIP command: This command will start the new version of CLIP
Execute the RESUME-SAT-LOGGING command: This command re-enables SATCP logging after the subsystem has started.
Important Note:
If the HOLD-SAT-LOGGING command is not executed prior to starting the subsystem, an error (GLP1025) will be displayed on the operator's console when the new version of CLIP is activated. It is crucial to follow these steps to avoid this error.
Subsystem termination
The CLIP subsystem has been halted using the command:
/STOP-SUBSYSTEM CLIP
An operator console will display a typical message flow during shutdown:
%4XBN-000.135825 % EXC0420 /LOGOFF PROCESSED. CPU TIME USED: 0.1305 SEC, USER ID: TSOS, TASK ID: 00010080, JOB NAME: CLIP
