&pagelevel(4)&pagelevel

wint_t getwchar(void);

Description

The function call getwchar(void) is equivalent to getwc(stdin), i.e. it reads a wide
character from the standard input stream.

Restriction
This version of the C runtime system only supports 1-byte characters as wide character
codes. They are of type wchar_t (see stddef.h). (End)

Return val.

Errors

Notes

See fgetwc().

See fgetwc().

If the value returned by getwchar() is stored into a variable of type wchar_t and then
compared against the wint_t macro WEOF, the comparison may never succeed.
