Disk error affecting the supported data areas

The information given in the preceding subsection about error reporting (see "Failure of the connection between server and buffered disk") also applies to this type of error.
Since read access to the data buffered in the cache areas is still possible, it may still be possible to save the affected files.

Where individual files are cached, these can be saved by copying them to another disk (/COPY-FILE command).

Defective files must subsequently be deleted to permit the cache area to be released. Otherwise, release of the cache area must be forced by means of the command /FORCE-STOP-DAB-CACHING.
