The job management system includes functions with which batch jobs can be distributed, monitored and controlled in the MSCF network. As a rule, the functions of the job management system are available in all types of network (LCS, CCS, shared pubset network or XCS).
In addition to the MSCF, the processing of batch jobs in the HIPLEX requires the following components:
JMS (job management system also in the narrower sense), a component of the basic system BS2000
job variable subsystem, part of the package BS2000 OS DX
Jobs are passed to the system and batch loads administered via the JMS (see section “Job initiation and termination”). Individual jobs are checked and mutually independent jobs are controlled via job variables (see section “Job checking”).
The product AVAS (see "Job management and job handling with AVAS") which also supports the MSCF network is based on the functions of the JMS and job variables.
