Changes since the last edition of the manual

This manual is published to accompany the release of HSMS V12.0E. The table below lists the changes within the HSMS statements. A list of amendments with regard to the function and a description of the restrictions compared with HSMS V12.0B is included in the introduction to the manual “HSMS Volume 1” [1].

Removes a directory lock of a version backup archive. A lock can exist

  • after abnormal termination of a backup run (BACKUP-FILE-VERSIONS)
  • after the abnormal termination of the reorganization process
  • lock from the archive directory that was restored after the RVB with SAVE-DIRECTORY = *YES
REORGANIZE-VERSION-BACKUPSAVE-DIRECTORY = *NO /  *YES

During reorganization of version backup archive, it is possible to save the archive directory.

HSMS V12.0D:

The operand is valid only for long term archives.

After copying only valid save versions it is possible to delete automatically the input save file, which means reorganization of the save file within long term archives.

It is possible to use REORGANIZE-VERSION-BACKUP for moving save files in version backup archives irrespective of existence of obsolete files versions.
