Moving tapes to a different location

&pagelevel(3)&pagelevel

The tapes ARC100 through ARC120 are in an archive system (the location AML001). They have been used by HSMS for long-term archiving and are to be kept in a fire-resistant archive (FIREBALL location). They are moved to the fire-resistant archive by means of the following statements:

//modify-volume-attributes volume=*interval(from=arc100,to=arc120),location=*par(home-loc=fireball)
//return-volumes volume=*interval(from=arc100,to=arc120),to-location=fireball

Once the RETURN-VOLUMES statement has been processed, the tapes can be taken from the input/output unit of the archive system. At the console, a message that must be acknowledged is output for each tape. This message is acknowledged by ROBAR-CL after the tape has been exported. In addition, MARENADM issues the message MAR4164 to the output medium specified in the MESSAGE-DESTINATION operand.
