SYSTEM Switch to BS2000 system mode

System commands can be entered in BS2000 system mode. The MAREN user program remains loaded and can be resumed again using the RESUME-PROGRAM command. The START-/LOAD-EXECUTABLE-PROGRAM (or START-/LOAD-PROGAM) and EXIT-JOB (or LOGOFF) commands, however, terminate the MAREN user program.

As the SDF standard statement HOLD-PROGRAM provides the same functionality, the SYSTEM statement should no longer be used in new procedures or ENTER files. In existing jobs it should gradually be replaced by the HOLD-PROGRAM statement.
