Activities after installation

After installation of openFT, the following activities are required.

1. If your system is not already being managed with SNMP, you will need to activate administration via SNMP.

   You will need a community string with write authorization to manage openFT via the openFT subagent. If you only have read-only authorization (Windows systems), then only information can be output via SNMP. In this case you will not be able to change values (or perform starts or stops, see also section “SNMP management for openFT(Windows)”).

2. Start the agent (see below)

You will find a list of activities performed by the SNMP administrator in the documentation for the management station used.

Consult your SNMP documentation to obtain information on security mechanisms.
