Following the installation of openFT, you may need to perform additional steps, depending on what you require of your system. These may include the following:
checking the default settings, see section “Checking the default settings”
installing openFT-CR (if encryption of user data is required)
installing CMX if openFT is to be operated with CMX and CMX was not installed before openFT. You will find the package on the product CD.
importing configuration data, see section “Importing configuration data”
disabling automatic startup of openFT, see section “Disabling the automatic startup of openFT”
activating ftalarm function, see section “Enabling the ftalarm command”
installing or uninstalling openFT-FTAM under HP-UX, AIX and Linux, see section “Installing or uninstalling openFT-FTAM under HP-UX, AIX and Linux”
installing or uninstalling openFT-FTP under HP-UX, AIX and Linux, see section “Installing or uninstalling openFT-FTP under HP-UX, AIX and Linux”
activating/disabling authentication via PAM (Pluggable Authentication Modules), see section “Authentication via PAM”
creating the partner list from TNS, see section “Creating the partner list from TNS”
configuring the remote administration server
If you want to use your system as a remote administration server, you must configure the server. See section “Configuring the remote administration server”.configuring the ADM trap server

If you use the TNS you may need to create the TNS entries, see section “Entering transport system applications in the TNS”.If no or no current TNS entries are present for openFT V12 (because CMX was installed after openFT), then you can subsequently create or update these using a script, see section “Entering transport system applications in the TNS”.
As of openFT version V12.1B, the release is only for Linux x86_64. Since openFT version V12.1C20, Solaris (Sparc) is also included in the release again. Further platforms are available on request from your Fujitsu sales representative.
