BCEND: Terminate BCAM in BS2000 system

&pagelevel(3)&pagelevel

Using this command, you shut down the data communication system in BS2000. All open applications are closed, and communication with all 8170 Cluster Controllers and with all systems is terminated.
The trace function activated with DCDIAG is not affected by the BCEND command.

This command can only be issued to the local BS2000 system and can only be entered via the console. It is not supported by the network management facility, as this cannot be operated without BCAM.

When using MSCF in multiprocessor networks, please note that MSCF must be terminated before BCEND is issued.
You should also use MAX-MSCF-DELAY to define an interval that is long enough to ensure a structured shutdown of the MSCF connections before BCEND. This value will depend on the size of the network.

TYPE=...
Specifies the type of connection shutdown.

TYPE=QUICK
Connection shutdown does not occur in the network.

TYPE=NORMAL
A connection shutdown occurs in the network.

W=...
Mode for warning about connection shutdown, only valid for TYPE=NORMAL

W=NO
The applications are not to be warned.

This option must only be used in “emergencies”, as it does not permit controlled termination of applications in the data communication system.

W=YES
The applications are to be warned about the forthcoming termination.
The warning is issued, if necessary, to all applications which are opened in the BS2000 system. It consists of information specifying that the data communication system in the BS2000 system is to be terminated in a defined time. This permits controlled termination of applications. The warning time is 10 seconds, as long as no other time is specified for the WARN operand with the BCTIMES command. After the warning time has expired the applications are, where necessary, automatically closed.
After BCEND W=Y has been entered, no additional BCEND W=Y is accepted for processing, only BCEND.

TERM=...
Mode for connection shutdown, only valid for W=YES.

TERM=NO
Termination does not take place automatically, but must be initiated by a renewed BCEND command with the operands W=NO or TYPE=QUICK.

TERM=YES
Termination takes place automatically after the warning time has expired.

TIME=<integer 1..32767>
Warning time in seconds. This specification overwrites the value specified by the BCTIMES command.
1 ... 10 ... 32767 sec

MSG=...
The operand controls the extent of the message output

MSG= *unchanged
control of message output remains unchanged.
Default: ALL

MSG=ALL
All messages are to be output

MSG=NAK
Only negative messages for computer systems are to be output
The following positive messages are suppressed:
