It is advisable to store frequently recurring sequences of administration commands in files.
BCAM recognizes the following types of command file:
Type 1 is a command file for the host which you can start at any time between DCSTART and BCEND by means of the CALL-BCAM-COMMANDS.
Type 2 is a special form of the type 1 command file.
It is known as an SOF (Start Option File) and is used only for BCAM start. The structure of the SOF files is identical to that of the type 1 command files. However, the first command (which is not a branching command) must always be DCOPT (DCOPT is ignored in normal command files).
BCAM administration processes the command files from beginning to end. This means that the current command must be fully processed before the next command is read from the command file.
Permitted statements
You can enter the following commands in a command file:
BCAM commands:
All apart from DCSTARTTDADM commands:
All apart from commands whose processing requires control data (e.g. CORP, CORR and MEA)
RBAS command SID
TDA command DETS
WBC and GOTO are only permitted in host command sequences.BS2000 operator commands
Operator commands are delivered to the system and are asynchronously processed there. Within the BCAM command file it is not possible to wait for command termination or to react to the command result. You must authorize BCAM to forward operator commands by assigning the routing code for the operator commands to the logical console BCAM. You can assign this routing codes by means of the SET-CODE statement in the parameter file as described in the BS2000 manual „Introduction to System Administration (Related publications)“.Branching instructions
