Failure of a BCAM host

&pagelevel(4)&pagelevel

When a BS2000 system (BCAM) with a defined virtual host fails, this virtual host can be activated on another BS2000 system provided it is defined there in the same way. It is therefore possible to assign (in part) the operations of a failed mainframe to another intact backup mainframe. HIPLEX AF can be used to do this.
It is important that each network address is assigned to just one active host at any given time, i.e. that a virtual host with its network configuration may also only be active on just one BS2000 system at any given time, otherwise problems can occur throughout the entire network.
