Failure of an IP router

As described below, BCAM attempts to switch to alternative routers if transmission problems occur. If no alternative routers are available or the redundancy is implemented transparently via a corresponding protocol (e.g. HSRP) for BCAM, we recommend to deactivate this functionality with BCOPTION ROUTER-REDUNDANCE=OFF.

All routes which are local on the node can be used as alternative routers. By preference routes are used which are managed and selected by routing protocols.
