The FQDN file supports two functions:
Function 1:
Mapping of DNS names to BCAM processor names.
This enables any DNS names of a DNS system to be mapped to defined BCAM processor names. This enables to enter partner systems to which are assigned unique BCAM names up to 8 characters and which can have variable addesses.
Function 2:
A DNS entry (assignment of an IP/IPV6 address to a DNS name) with additional mapping to a BCAM processor name.DNS entries can be generated which are only known locally.
The FQDN file entries are also entered in the ISAM file of the processor file (to assign the BCAM name to an IP or IPv6 address).
Note
The DNS servers should always be entered in the FQDN file in order to make the DNS servers known to BCAM and to be able to use their function properly. See section "Settings for using DNS" for further information.
Name and content of the FQDN file
The name of the FQDN file is defined using the FQDN-TABLE parameter in the DCOPT, DCSTART und BCMOD commands.
