Startup of BCAM is initiated with the DCSTART command, which is normally contained in the BS2000 command file $TSOS.CMDFILE (standard name). The statically generated objects (partner systems, line characteristics, etc.) are transferred from the RDF to BCAM tables. The dynamically generated partner systems (BCIN format 2) are then transferred to the BCAM tables from the SOF file.
Any BCAM options for individual local connections must be made known before they are activated. The partner systems must then be activated. Any file containing BCMAP commands can be loaded after the mapping function has been initialized (BCMAP FUNCT=INIT).
For systems with low memory capacity, insufficient BCAM memory may result in problems during connection establishment or poor transaction rates. Performance can be improved by increasing the PAGMEM or RESMEM values (see BCMOD, DCOPT, DCSTART commands).
