Basic settings using BCAM options

&pagelevel(5)&pagelevel

Use the LINE-SUPERVISION operand to ensure that line monitoring is enabled (*ON, the default value:

This setting can be changed as follows:

/MODIFY-BCAM-OPTIONS AVAILABILITY-OPTIONS=*PARARMETERS( -
/       LINE-SUPERVISION=...)

Monitoring is implemented by exchanging ARP messages. For this reason it is necessary to assign an IP address to each line which is used. Monitoring does not function if the alternate line has not been assigned an IP address, because then no messages can be exchanged.

Set the display and acknowledgment behavior of BCAM messages using the following command:

/MODIFY-BCAM-OPTIONS AVAILABILITY-OPTIONS=*PARAMETERS( -
/       ACKNOWLEDGE-MSG=)

These messages can then be displayed using the STA msg or SHOW-PENDING-MSG command.

The following messages can be set in this way:

BCA07B2, BCA0990, BCA0991, BCA0996 and BCA0999.

The BCA09* messages provide information on whether there was an input/output problem. The message BCA07B2 also specifies the line to which the routes via the failed line have been transferred.
