Changes since the last version of the manual

This new version is PERCON V3.0A, and the following principal changes have been made since the last edition for PERCON V2.9A:

• PERCON V3.0A can run in BS2000 OS DX V1.0A.

• The installation files get the new suffix .030. The SYSFGM and SYSRME files have been omitted.
• In the SET-GROUP-ATTRIBUTES statement, the GROUP-HEADER operand supports LONG-INTEGER values.
• In the SET-RECORD-MAPPING statement, the OUTPUT-FIELDS operand supports LONG-INTEGER values.
• The DEVICE-TYPE operands of the ASSIGN-INPUT-TAPE and ASSIGN-OUTPUT-TAPE statements are given the value type DEVICE with the default value TAPE-C4.
• The output of the block counter for tapes has been increased to 10 digits.

Incompatibilities

Older applications that invoke PERCON as a subprogram, and therefore have an integrated starter module from PERCON V2.5A or earlier, must be linked in again with the PERCON V3.0 starter module.

Chapter "PERCON-Messages" is deleted.
