SCSI interface

The SCSI interface defines the design of ROBAR operation for the real archive systems Scalar i500 and Scalar i6000 from QUANTUM Corp.

Connection of the archive systems

The archive systems with SCSI interface are connected to the ROBAR server via a Storage Area Network (SAN) of the type “fabric”. The robotics of the archive system is controlled via fibre channel (FC).

Media management

The media management of the archive system is embedded in ROBAR. Partitions can be created in the archive system. A separate instance of ROBAR-SV is required on the ROBAR server for each partition.
