Abstract table

An abstract table is a base table whose individual rows are not permanently stored. SESAM/SQL calculates the values of such rows on the basis of values in other tables when the tables are actually used by SESAM/SQL. Abstract tables always output the current vallues. In SESAM/SQL, abstract tables are used as the basis for views in the Information Schema.
