There are two types of clusters when it comes to SE Servers:
- Management Cluster for central operation and management
- SU Cluster for Live Migration support
Every cluster is fully set up by the customer's service both on the hardware and software level depending on the requirements of the customer.
The customer must provide the following server-external resources if necessary:
- Physical cables for the network connection
- Disks in external storage systems
This chapter covers the central requirements for the cluster functionalities and gives an overview of the display in SE Manager (subsequently referred to as SEM):
- Hardware structure
- Network connections
- CRD functionality; CRD with external configuration disks
- SEM displays and functions
Changes to the predecessor document:
- RECOVER-VM-DEFINITION is supported with V6.3 not only for SU /390 but also for SU x86.
- Notes for the administration of an inhomogeneous Management Cluster (V6.3/V6.2)
- Clarifications of the boundary conditions for live migration to SU /390
- Clarifications on the need for an external CRD
