Changes since the last edition of the manual

This manual describes the functionality of the SE Manager with the use of the basic software M2000/X2000/HNC V6.4A.

Functional extensions

The basic software M2000/X2000/HNC V6.4A provides the following functional extensions:


SEM GUI

  • Support of the browser Chrome
  • New terminal integrated into SEM: SEMVT (SEM Virtual Terminal) replaces the previous terminal.
    New functions: Several terminal settings possible, display of the connection status, etc.
  • SEM tables can be exported and printed.
  • Configurable central server information (message or warning) for special situations (e.g. maintenance)

Access & Security

  • Usage of a customer-specific CA certificate supported
  • The IP-based access rights functionality has been enhanced with new functions:
    Activate and deactivate as well as deletion of the whole configuration.
  • The LDAP configuration supports the communication secured by LDAPS.
  • Remote service connections lead to events for the component RemSrv.
    Based on this, customers can be informed about remote service connections by alarm mails.


SE server configuration

  • Support of up to 256 AU in one SE server.
    If the add-on NUX is installed, a new level, the rack level, extends the tree structure of the Systems and Hardware menus.
  • A management cluster supports up to 8 SE servers with up to 16 MUs.
  • The support of XenVMs has been abandoned and the SEM menu has been adapted resp. simplified accordingly.


BS2000

  • SEM displays the BS2000 version, if it is provided.
    Otherwise the OSD/BC version is displayed.
  • New SEM page Networks displaying BCAM data (lines, nodes, routers) for BS2000 systems


Add-ons

  • Introduction of the add-on-specific administrator roles OPENSM2 administrator, OPENUTM administrator, ROBAR administrator and STORMAN administrator.
    These roles essentially authorize the administration of the respective add-on.
  • The status INITIALIZING is supported for add-ons.
