There are two types of clusters when it comes to SE Servers:
- Management Cluster for central operation and management
- SU Cluster for Live Migration support
Every cluster is fully set up by the customer service both on the hardware and software level depending on the requirements of the customer.
The customer must provide the following server-external resources if necessary:
- Physical cables for the network connection
- Disks in external storage systems
This chapter covers the central requirements for the cluster functionalities and gives an overview of the display in SE Manager (subsequently referred to as SEM):
- Hardware structure
- Network connections
- CRD functionality; CRD with external configuration disks
- SEM displays and functions
Changes to the predecessor document:
- As of V6.4, also more than two SE server can be connected to a Management Cluster.
- The description has been adapted to the new functionality and terminology of SEM.
Example: In SEM, a global server information has been introduced, that can be used for special situations like having an inhomogeneous cluster configuration or announcing a maintenance. - Notes for the administration of an inhomogeneous Management Cluster (V6.4/V6.3)
