This manual describes the functionality of the SE Manager with the use of the basic software M2000/X2000/HNC V6.6A.
Functional extensions
The functional extensions when using the basic software M2000/X2000/HNC V6.6A are fully described in the user guide „Administration and Operation“ [2].
Under security aspects, especially the following new features are relevant:
- Service account service
- The password and its management must comply with today's generally applicable security requirements.
- This applies to the length and complexity, as well as to the expiry time and inactivation time.
- The specific values for the validity time and warning time are defined by mutual agreement between the customer and Customer Support.
- The password for the service account is managed exclusively by Customer Support in accordance with the mutual agreement.
- SNMPv3
- The SNMPv3 protocol, which meets high security requirements, is supported in the configuration of trap receivers - in alarm management and in the MU-specific forwarding of hardware-triggered SNMP traps.
- With SP1: In SEM, the specific persistent SNMP Engine ID is displayed for each individual MU.
- Display of Teleservice messages
- All Teleservice messages that are sent from the SE Server to the Support Center are displayed in SEM as events with the component TsCall and the weight NOTICE.
- New role
- A new role called Remote service administrator has been introduced.
- With SP1: The new auxiliary basic role Shell access has been introduced.

- Administration of passwords
- In the SE Manager, entered passwords are usually hidden for security reasons.
During input, an eye icon is displayed in front of the input field, with which the password can be made visible and hidden again. - With SP1: The password rules have been tightened to improve security.
- With SP1: The passwords of the accounts are monitored. In case given, events with the component PwMon are created.
