Upgrade StorMan

&pagelevel(2)&pagelevel

StorMan must be deinstalled before upgrading to a higher StorMan version.

The StorMan backup and configuration files are not deleted during deinstallation.

Data in place upgrades for StorMan configurations from previous to current StorMan version is supported “on the fly”:

During the upgrade process configruation data are kept in place and the StorMan repository is upgraded automatically.

Please note that downgrading to a lower StorMan version is not supported with the same repository.

For this reason it is recommended to create a backup of StorMan repository using stormandb -dump or StorMan WebUI function 'Generate diagnostic data' before starting the upgrade.

When upgrading the StorMan Version the following steps are recommended:

  1. Create a backup of your StorMan repository (pls. see above):

This backup is needed if a downgrade to a previous StorMan may become necessary.
  2. Make sure your application is not using StorMan during the upgrade.

  3. Deinstall current StorMan version
  4. Start StorMan installation

  5. Check StorMan installation success with SE Manager (or with CLI storcheck).

  6. Check the correct StorMan parameter settings after successful upgrade in the WebUI (or in the smserver.ini file).
