Installation in BS2000

NET-SNMP is a component of the BS2000 operating system. The necessary files are located on the BS2000 system after BS2000 operating system has been installed.
The SNMP-AGENTS package is an optional product and need to be installed separately.

The installation is carried out by the installation monitor IMON. Where necessary, the IMON installation performs all BS2000-specific jobs such as creation of subsystem catalog entries or packet installation in POSIX. However, please note the following exceptions:

• By default, IMON performs installation in POSIX only for products which are already present there. Therefore, depending on the IMON parameter settings, manual execution of /START-POSIX-INSTALLATION may be required to introduce NET-SNMP, SNMP-AGENTS and other products in POSIX for the very first time.
• IMON installation always creates scripts which POSIX executes during next startup. Executing /START-POSIX-INSTALLATION will install the delivered software with immediate effect.

Deleting the SINLIB after installation leads to errors as the agents also require the SINLIB during operation
