StorMan Authorization on M2000 up to V6.4

&pagelevel(5)&pagelevel

When running in M2000, StorMan adapts to the authorization concept of M2000. StorMan authorization on M2000 depends on the type of access:

  • CLI access is supported for the special M2000 users service and admin, they can call StorMan commands without additional authorization check and have full privileges of an Storage Administrator (StorAdmin) as described in StorMan Roles (StorMan V10.1.0, #26). These users are also predefined in StorMan as StorMan users and cannot be modified or removed.
  • CLI access is also supported additional users with M2000 role "admin".
  • WebUI access is controlled on 2 levels:

    • During StorMan installation the SE Manager users service and admin are defined as StorMan users by default with StorMan role StorAdmin. Therefore a primary access to StorMan is possible for these users.
Additional SE Manager users with a user role service or admin have access to StorMan WebUI only after they have also been defined as StorMan users with a StorMan Role as described in StorMan Roles (StorMan V10.1.0, #26).

    • The range of supported functions and for authorized users is controlled by the StorMan internal authorization and role concept. It depends on the StorMan role (StorAdmin or Info).

Furthermore in M2000 V6.4 a role "STORMAN-administrator" can be assigned to a new user. These users are automatically added as StorMan users and have access to StorMan WebUI with the privileges of StorAdmin
