HIPLEX MSCF V21.0 2021-11 and RFA (Remote File Access)

&pagelevel(3)&pagelevel

For network-wide access to catalogs and files, the software product RFA is available independently of MSCF in addition to the File Transfer (openFT) software product.

RFA allows the user to generate, process, and delete files on a processor other than the local processor (i.e. on a remote processor). In the local processor, the user can open RFA connections to one or more remote processors (target processors) simultaneously.
When opening an RFA connection, an AFR (Access From Remote) partner task is generated on each respective target processor. The file access operations performed on the target processor are controlled by this task. The user terminates the connection once processing has been completed.

RFA does not support procedure calls or the loading and execution of programs.

A detailed description of Remote File Access can be found in the "RFA" manual [15 (Related publications)].

If accesses via RFA and MSCF take place concurrently, those via RFA always have priority.
