HIPLEX MSCF incorporates the DSSM subsystems MSCF, NSM and XCS-TIME.
This chapter deals with the installation of these subsystems and the parameterization of MSCF and NSM. The XCS-TIME subsystem only has to be installed (not parameterized). The chapter also includes generation instructions for the different types of network.

General
The installation and parameterization of HIPLEX MSCF cannot be strictly separated from the chapter “Administration of MSCF networks” because firstly, attributes defined during generation influence the operation and secondly, some of the attributes defined during generation can be changed when the system is up and running.
HIPLEX MSCF V21.0 runs on BS2000 OS DX V1.0.
Product maintenance in the network
Within an MSCF network the corrections to all network-relevant components must have the same release status (as well as HIPLEX MSCF, these include BS2000/OSD-BC, BCAM, DLMUSER, LNM and MSCFANC). This can also apply to add-on products which work throughout the network, e.g. openSM2. It is therefore recommended that the correction statuses of all products be kept consistent.
