Critical states can be reported by sending an email to an instance provided for this purpose. The email describes the situation. Thus an opportunity is provided to solve the encountered problem by manual intervention within short time.
Critical states concerning MSCF network functionality for example are caused by unexpected loss of MSCF connection to a network partner or by master change failure for a shared pubset.
The catalog entry of the user to be destined as instance for monitoring and error recovery has to be supplemented with one email address or multiple email addresses by using the MODIFY-USER-ATTRIBUTES or ADD-USER commands. In case of critical problems, an email describing the problem occurred will be sent to the mail address(es) found in the catalog entry of the user ID that has been specified in the NOTIFY-BY-MAIL operand of the SET-MSCF-ENVIRONMENT or MODIFY-MSCF-ENVIRONMENT commands.
