In the shared pubset network and the XCS network a connection failure is detected by MSCF at the latest after two monitoring intervals.The automatic fail reconfiguration is initiated after one further interval.

This gives the partners time to react to a possibly erroneous failure detection. A monitoring interval is calculated using FAIL-DETECTION-LIMIT / 11. So, with a setting of FAIL-DETECTION-LIMIT=176 (minimum), MCS1100 is issued at the latest after 32 seconds.

If automatic failure handling is permitted, failure reconfiguration is started at the latest after 48 seconds.
