&pagelevel(4)&pagelevel

SM2 offers a range of mostly switchable monitoring programs, which record additional monitored data. Some of the important monitoring programs in multiprocessor operation are listed below:

Monitoring programs

provides data on read and write accesses and the associated hit rates for files buffered via the cache.

  • DLM (Distributed Lock Manager)
provides data on lock requirements from TU and TPR.

  • MSCF
provides data on the communication between the local processor and other processors.

  • NSM (Node Synchronization Manager)
monitoring program provides data on this basic function of HIPLEX in the XCS network.

Reports

  • GLOBAL
provides an overview of the utilization (CPU utilization, I/O rate, memory utilization) of all processors in the network.

  • SHARED-PVS
shows the accesses and queue lengths for shared disk devices.
