MAREN exits

MAREN exits (exits for short) are routines which are called by individual MAREN components at certain stages in processing. These routines allow specific processes in MAREN to be monitored and logged. They also allow the normal behavior of MAREN to be changed and certain steps in processing to be prevented.

MAREN provides the following exits:

• Reserve-request exit MARENEX1 and reserve-return exit MARENEX3 for the function “new tape reservation”.

• Write-request exit MARENEX2 and write-return exit MARENEX4 for the function “modify catalog entry”.

• Read exit MARENEX5 for the function “access catalog entry”.

• Device depot exit MARENEX6 for the function “device selection and location definition”.
