The write-return exit is only executed if a modification has taken place. This exit is not executed if a modification was rejected for any reason, such as the catalog entry is password-protected and the password was not specified or the modification was not permitted by the write-request exit.
The return exit can perform the following action:
evaluate the changes made.
The return exit must not make any changes to the catalog entry, otherwise the loaded program, e.g. MARENCP, is terminated with message MARCP27
.
