Printing

&pagelevel(3)&pagelevel

MT9750 supports different print output formats. The first two ones are BS2000-specific printing functions, the last ones are two main printing functions of MT9750:

  • Bypass printing

Bypass printing is printing of host data on a connected printer, where the print data is not actually displayed on the screen but bypasses it. MT9750 requires passive sessions for bypass printing.

  • Hard copy

Hard copy printing is the output of screen data from a data display terminal on a printer. It makes no difference whether the printout is initiated by the operator of the terminal (or 9750 session) or by an instruction from the host (“Host-initiated hard copy”).

Apart from these BS2000-specific print functions, two general print functions are available in MT9750:

  • Copying screen data to a printer

  • Printing the screen content without previously positioning the cursor

The print data is sent to a Windows printer. Setting up and adjusting the printer are described in section “Configuring the printer”.

If you are printing on Windows printers, use the Windows Print Manager functions. Each print job (hard copy, bypass, copying to printer) generates a separate print list.

If you are printing from multiple sessions in parallel, the first print job is processed first. The others are rejected with an error message until the first print job is completed. The second print job is then released, and so on.
