For bypass printing, you require a separate session that has to be configured as a passive session and prepared for the connection with the host. Bypass printing is carried out “transparently”, which means that the print data from the host and local (Windows-) printers are of the same format.
Replacement character for ESC
Some host applications do not use the default control character ESC (Escape) for printer control. To enable you to continue using these applications with adapting them, you have the following option: Specify a character that will be converted into ESC by the emulation before the data flow is forwarded to the printer.
The replacement character is defined in the Configuration > Special Parameters menu. Specify the character in its hexadecimal format (e.g. 1b for ESC):
