Compose characters

&pagelevel(3)&pagelevel

This section shows all compose characters supported by MT9750 and the valid key sequences to generate them.

The compose function is only available if:

  • DSS and host application are running in 8-bit mode, and

  • the DSS interconnection setting is Computer.

Information on changing the DSS mode and DSS interconnection can be found in section “Configuring the data display terminal”.

Composing characters

  1. Press the [Compose] key on your keyboard and release it.

If you do not have this key, use the [Alt Gr] key.

  2. Enter a valid compose sequence (see tables on the following pages). The compose character appears on the screen.

If you enter an invalid character sequence the terminal emits a beep and does not display
a character. In this case, you must start the procedure again from the beginning.

If you accidentally activate the compose function, you can cancel any entries made and return to normal mode using the Backspace key [<--].
