Using this command, you change the assignment of lines to mnemonic device names. The mnemonic device name of the line is changed. If the line is in the “active” state, it is first deactivated and then reactivated after the device name has been changed.

<line-name 1 .. 8>
Name of the line whose device name is changed.
DEV=...
Specifies the mnemonic device name of the line.
<device 2..4> consists of two to four alphanumeric characters. In BS2000 system generation the DVC statement defines the physical line on which the system named mn is accessed.
The following device types are possible:
mnemonic device name of the write device
mnemonic device name of the read device
Command logging
For reasons of compatibility, the processing acknowledgment is supplied in news BCA0763 if it is positive and in news BCA0762 if it is negative, followed by the message NBR0740. In addition, for positive acknowledgments, the messages BCA08CF, BCA0854 and BCA0630 may also appear.
