MODIFY-LINE / MDLN: Modify line

You use the MODIFY-LINE command for the dynamic modification of line-specific options and/or attributes.

The alias name MDLN exists for MODIFY-LINE in order to provide SNMP support.

DUP-ADDR-DETECTION=...
This parameter is used to set Duplicate Address Detection on a line-specific basis.Comment:
If this line is in a redundant relationship with other lines, the settings for Duplicate Address Detection for IPv6 are also adjusted accordingly for these lines.

DUP-ADDR-DETECTION= * UNCHANGED
The previous setting remains unchanged.
Default: Duplicate Address Detection is performed, and the Transmit number is 3.

DUP-ADDR-DETECTION=*ON(...)
Duplicate Address Detection is performed.

TRANSMIT-NUMBER=<integer 1..10>
The number of Transmits is set.

TRANSMIT-NUMBER=*STD
The number of Transmits is set to the default value 3.

DUP-ADDR-DETECTION=*OFF
Duplicate Address Detection is not performed.

DUP-ADDR-DETECTION=*STD
Duplicate Address Detection is performed using the default setting.

ADDR-CONFLICT-DETECT=...
This parameter is used to set IP Address Conflict Detection on a line-specific basis.

If this line is in a redundant relationship with other lines, the settings for Duplicate Address Detection for IP are also adjusted accordingly for these lines.

ADDR-CONFLICT-DETECT= * UNCHANGED
The current setting is not changed.
Default: IP Address Conflict Detection is performed and the transmit number is 1.

ADDR-CONFLICT-DETECT=*ON(...)
IP Address Conflict Detection is performed.

TRANSMIT-NUMBER=<integer 1..10>
The number of transmits is set.

TRANSMIT-NUMBER=*STD
The number of transmits is set to the default value 1.

ADDR-CONFLICT-DETECT=*OFF
IP Address Conflict Detection is not performed.

ADDR-CONFLICT-DETECT=*STD
IP Address Conflict Detection is performed with the default setting.

CHECKSUM=...
The setting for calculating the CHECKSUM option is changed.
A prerequisite is that the device supports the TCP/IP checksum calculation.

CHECKSUM=*UNCHANGED
The setting for the CHECKSUM option remains unchanged.

CHECKSUM=*BY-BCAM
The CHECKSUM calculation is performed in BCAM.

CHECKSUM=*BY-DEVICE
The CHECKSUM calculation is performed in the device.

TIMEOUT-PROCESSING=...
Specifies whether a line is maintained or deactivated following a timeout on this line when line supervision is active (LINE-SUPERVISION in the BCOPTION/ MODIFY-BCAM-OPTIONS command).
You cannot change this option unless a LAN protocol (CSMACD) is running on the line.

TIMEOUT-PROCESSING=*UNCHANGED
The setting of the TIMEOUT-PROCESSING option remains unchanged.
Default: *KEEP-LINE

TIMEOUT-PROCESSING=*KEEP-LINE
The line is maintained on a timeout if line supervision is set.

TIMEOUT-PROCESSING=*DEACTIVATE-LINE
The line is deactivated on a timeout if line supervision is set.

MAX-LPDU-SIZE=...
Changes the MAX-LPDU-SIZE attribute.
Modifying the MAX-LPDU-SIZE attribute prerequisites that you use the L2 profile ETHERNET on the line.

The device definition can only be changed if the line is deactivated.

MAX-LPDU-SIZE=*UNCHANGED
The MAX-LPDU-SIZE attribute is unchanged.

MAX-LPDU-SIZE=*ETHERNET-STD
The LPDU length is changed to the ETHERNET value (1514 bytes).

MAX-LPDU-SIZE=*BY-DEVICE
The LPDU length is changed to the value read by the device.

MAX-LPDU-SIZE=*STD
The LPDU length is changed to the default value for the defined LAN line.

MAX-LPDU-SIZE=<integer 1514..65535>
The LPDU length is changed to the specified value (in bytes).

Command logging

Positive acknowledgments are supplied in news BCA0663, and negative acknowledgments in news BCA06B3 followed by the message NBR0740. If processing is positive then the messages BCA07D0, BCA07D1, BCA07D6 and BCA07D7 may also appear.
A description of the error messages that may be issued during command processing is provided in the table below.
