You use the (RE)START-LWRESD command to (stop and) start LWRESD processing. The DNS Resolver daemon is started.
The standard case of starting LWRESD under TSOS can also be controlled using the DCOPT or DCSTART command.

,RESOLV-FILE = *STD / <filename 1..54> ,DUMP-FILE = *STD / <filename 1..54> |
RESOLV-FILE=...
Name of the LWRESD configuration file.
RESOLV-FILE=*STD
Default name of the LWRESD configuration file: SYSDAT.LWRESD.nnn.RESOLV.CONF
RESOLV-FILE=<filename 1..54>
Use of a RESOLV-FILE with a non-standard name is not recommended.
When an LWRESD configuration file without a standard name is used, the functionality of the specified DNS settings can no longer be guaranteed by commands and procedures.
DUMP-FILE=...
The name of the dump file can be specified when LWRESD is started.
The file contents are generated with the DUMP-LWRESD-CACHE command.
DUMP-FILE=*STD
Default name of the dump file: SYSOUT.LWRESD.nnn.DUMP.DB
DUMP-FILE=<filename 1..54>
Specify the name you wish to give the dump file.
Notes
When LWRESD is started, the procedure which processes the command generates the SYSOUT.LWRESD.nnn file under the execution ID of LWRESD. The start of LWRESD is logged in this file. Further useful diagnostic data can be found in the log files with the names SYSLOG.LWRESD.<tsn>.<date>.<time>.
If the JV subsystem is available, information is stored in the following job variable which the commands described below use (in particular the SHOW-LWRESD-PARAMETERS command):SYS.PARAM.LWRESD.nnn
SYS.PARAM.LWRESD.nnn.DUMP.DB
