Location of the files

On Unix and Linux systems

  • The cluster filebase must be located on a file system that can be accessed from all nodes. This means that it will typically be located on a storage subsystem that can be accessed with NFS4.

  • For reasons of consistency, directories with the same names must be used as NFS4 mount points on all nodes.

  • It is recommended that a common mount point is used for the cluster filebase and all filebase directories.

On Windows systems

  • The cluster filebase must be on a network share that can be accessed from all nodes.

  • On Windows systems, network shares are used that are accessed using the CIFS protocol.

Windows network shares can be addressed using the following two formats:

    • Using drive letters, e.g. C:\

    • Using the UNC name, i.e. in the format \\ServerName\ShareName\

These drives must be able to be accessed from all nodes using the same format. You must specify this name accordingly during UTM generation.
