Configuring archive systems with a SCSI interface

ROBAR-SV requires that all actions for devices and cartridges should be initiated and controlled exclusively by ROBAR. Parallel actions by other instances, e.g. by the archive system itself, are not permitted.

Consequently specify settings in the QUANTUM Scalar i500 and i6000 archive systems for the use of ROBAR via their service interface.

Settings in the archive systems

Make the settings required to define a partition, including LUN mapping, in the archive systems.

Among other things, enter the WWPN of the HBA on the ROBAR server in the QUANTUM Scalar i6000 archive systems. In this way the HBA obtains the right to access this partition.

Operating mode of the UNLOAD

Disable automatic unloading of a cartridge in the archive systems.

QUANTUM Scalar i500

Disable the UNLOAD wizard in the Tools - System Settings menu (no check mark).

QUANTUM Scalar i6000

Set the following in the Setup menu: Physical Library: Automatic Drive Unload: Disable
