Starting the monitor system on an SU /390
The monitor system on an SU /390 can be started in various ways:
When the operating mode is switched to "VM2000 operation" using the SE Manager (see "Operating modes"), the monitor system is started immediately.
After the SU /390 has been started in the operating mode "VM2000 operation", the monitor system can be started as follows:
Automatically (after a corresponding setting has been made in the SVP)
Manually using the SE Manager in the main menu (monitor VM selected) in the Operation tab with the action BS2000 IPL
Manually using the functions of the SVP console. The SVP console can be opened in the SE Manager (SU /390 selected) in the SVP console tab.
Starting the monitor system on an SU x86
After the operating mode “VM2000 operation” has been set, the monitor system on an SU x86 can be started in different ways:
Automatically when initializing the domain
MONITOR(see "Configuration using the SE Manager (SU x86)")Manually using the SE Manager in the main menu (monitor VM selected) in the Operation tab with the action BS2000 IPL
Manually using SVP functions of the KVP console which is assigned to the monitor VM
