The concept of CPU pools enables you to combine individual CPUs in an organizational unit. CPU pools have their own name. A CPU pool is assigned individual normal and extra CPUs and also VMs and (on SU /390) VM groups. When scheduling takes place, only the VMs and VM groups which are assigned to the CPU pool use the CPUs in the CPU pool.
