Configuration file

&pagelevel(4)&pagelevel

The subsystem information file SYSSSI.NSM.<ver> entered in the DSSM subsystem catalog serves as a configuration file for NSM (provided no other name was specified during installation). The file must be a SAM file with variable record length (FILE-STRUC=SAM,RECFORM=V) and should be protected against unauthorized modification with USER-ACCESS=*OWNER-ONLY and, if appropriate, ACCESS=*READ or a write password.

The only command allowed in the configuration file is "SET-NSM-ENVIRONMENT" (Define NSM configuration parameters). Only users with a very good knowledge of the system should use the setting options for the circulation times of the communication token in the network.
In the information file generated during installation, the command is specified such that the standard values come into play.  But all settings can also be changed later with the MODIFY-NSM-ENVIRONMENT command.

The settings defined in the information file apply to the first processor that enters the corresponding XCS network (and thus establishes it). All other processors entering the XCS network take over the settings in effect at the time they enter (see the command "MODIFY-NSM-ENVIRONMENT" (Modify NSM configuration parameters)).
