This manual is divided into several chapters and indices:

  • Chapter Basic information about the MSCF network
    explains the layers within the architecture of an MSCF network.

  • Chapter Connection types and network types
    explains the LCS, CCS and the shared pubset and XCS networks. Connections, partner types, applications, special features and restrictions of the different network types are described in this chapter as well as entry and re-entry to and exit from the XCS network. Finally, it explains the XCS reconfiguration.

  • Chapter Applications and basic functions
    deals with the basic functions and applications that are available.

  • Chapter Installation and configuration
    tells you about the essential prerequisites for the installation of HIPLEX MSCF and features generation instructions for the various network types.

  • Chapter Administration of MSCF networks
    gives you an overview of all the supported administration commands and explains how to start and terminate HIPLEX MSCF and establish and clear down connections. The MSCF connection messages, setting up and clearing down the LCS, CCS, the shared pubset and XCS network, fetching information and the handling of an XCS pubset are also dealt with in this chapter.

  • Chapter Error recovery
    discusses error recovery in general and error recovery specifically related to the LCS/CCS network, shared pubset network and XCS network.

  • Chapter Performance and optimization
    explains how the performance of the MSCF network is monitored and can be supervised by the different monitoring programs of openSM2.

    describes the commands for MSCF and NSM in alphabetical order.

    describes the macros for MSCF in alphabetical order followed.

  • Appendix
    describes the MSCF interface (operand HOST=*ANY) of the ENTER-JOB and ENTER-PROCEDURE commands and important points for the generation and operation of an MSCF network.
