Relocating tapes

Reserved, foreign and free tapes can be moved to an archive system in a MARENADM clear-up session. To do this, the following MARENADM statements must be entered:

//MODIFY-VOLUME-ATTRIBUTES VOLUME=...,LOCATION=PARAMETERS(HOME-LOCATION=<robar-location>)
//RETURN-VOLUMES VOLUME=....,FROM-LOCATION=<current-location>,TO-LOCATION=<robar-location>,MESSAGE-DESTINATION=...


MARENADM displays a transport message at the output device specified with the MESSAGE-DESTINATION operand. When the tape is inserted in the input area of the archive system’s import/export unit, ROBAR causes MAREN to update the MAREN catalog entry with the temporary storage location.
