If BCAM receives name information from DNS (reverse lookup), then BCAM maps the delivered domain names (up to 255 bytes in length) as follows to the BCAM processor names which have a maximum length of 8 bytes:
The characters as of the first period are truncated from the domain name. The host name (lowest level in the name hierarchy) is used as the processor name. If the resulting received names are longer than 8 bytes, BCAM is not able to use them.
If the name received is longer than 8 bytes, BCAM truncates the name to a length of 8 bytes. Depending on the sequence of calls, the name obtained first is used. If a name conflict subsequently occurs during this processing, BCAM assigns a name of the type @@xxxxxx (000001 . xxxxxx . 999999).
Example

becomes PC123456
PC54321.MY-COMPANY.COM
becomes PC54321
PC7654321.MY-COMPANY.COM
becomes PC765432
PC76543210.MY-COMPANY.COM
becomes @@yyyyyy
The definition sequence in this example also corresponds to the sequence of the information request.
