There are two types of clusters when it comes to SE Servers:
- Management Cluster for central operation and management
- SU Cluster for Live Migration support
Every cluster is fully set up by the customer service both on the hardware and software level depending on the requirements of the customer.
The customer must provide the following server-external resources if necessary:
- Physical cables for the network connection
- Disks in external storage systems
This chapter covers the central requirements for the cluster functionalities and gives an overview of the display in SE Manager (subsequently referred to as SEM):
- Hardware structure
- Network connections
- CRD functionality; CRD with external configuration disks
- SEM displays and functions
Changes to the predecessor document:
- 10 Gbit/s ISL-E connections are supported via SFP modules in the NU.
- Updates notes for the administration of an inhomogeneous management cluster (V6.5/V6.4)
In particular: It is ensured that in an inhomogeneous management cluster always one MU with V6.5 becomes the Master MU. - New simplified authorization concept for BS2000 operators
If BS2000 operators are to be granted authorization for live migration of a BS2000 system, they only need to be granted access authorization to this BS2000 system.
