The changes mentioned here describe differences between MT9750 V8.0 and V9.0.
New Functions in MT9750 V9.0A
- When installing V9.0A over preexisting version V8.0C, the user license updates to V9.0A automatically. It means that the user does not have to activate the new version manually.
- Improved user interface
- Existing sessions can be started by means of a macro. For this purpose, the option of a session start via macro file was introduced to the session properties.
- Switching multiple sessions can be carried out using the key combination
[Alt]+[<Number>]
. (This key assignment was withdrawn with MT9750 V9.0B04.) - When changing the mapping of programmable keys by means of BS2000 programs (e.g. PLUS), the session saving dialog opens automatically.
- The contents can be easily copied and pasted using
[CTRL]+[C]
and[CTRL]+[V]
, as well as transferred between particular sessions. - Functional keys displayed on the application window (menu Settings > Toolbars) are assigned tooltips for mapping. The tooltips are shown by highlighting with the mouse.
- Configuration of printers and print jobs was organized in a more clear and consistent way.
- Bypass printing is carried out “transparently”, which means that the print data from host and local (Windows) printers are of the same format.
- After session closing, the saving dialog is opened automatically if there were any modifications of the session properties. It also takes place after setting up a new mapping of P-keys by host applications.
New Functions in MT9750 V9.0B
- Secure / Encrypted connection to the BS2000 host, by using SSL/TLS. The open source TLS-proxy stunnel, which is supplied with TCP-IP-AP as part of interNet Services, must be set up on the BS2000 system. The setup and use of stunnel is described in the manual interNet Services Administrator Manual [5].
- Switching multiple sessions is re-mapped to
[Ctrl]+[Shift]+[<Number>]
to allow[Alt]+[<Number>]
combination to be mapped to 9750 keys.
New Functions in MT9750 V9.0C
- Basic support of the String.Latin+ 1.2 Unicode character set according to DIN SPEC 91739 [7]. All characters listed in DIN SPEC 91739 that consist of one code point are supported. Character sequences are therefore displayed sequentially and are not superimposed to form a glyph. Block element symbols are also supported. Only the font sizes 8x16, 9x10, 9x18, 11x22, 12x26, 13x26 and 16x38 can be set.
Functions no longer supported from MT9750 V9.0
- Assigning short names to a session is no longer supported.
- Host printers cannot be configured by means of MT9750 anymore. If host data is to be printed, it is output on the local printer by bypassing the screen.
